Taking photos of your kids can be fun but challenging.
I stopped buying school pictures and started doing a photo shoot of my kiddos towards the end of each year. I like to take A LOT of pictures and kids patience level runs out quickly. I have my hubby with me to help keep the kids in line until I feel satisfied with the results of my shots. My poor hubby runs out of patience too. It's a hard job, but somebody has to do it.
They will thank me later when they are older and look back on all the pics from over the years.
(At least I hope they will, right?)
I do allow some silliness to keep things going.
They like to run......and run. Not sure if it's because they are trying to run away from me.
I have never been a runner. Well, except the time I did track and field in middle school, but I don't think that counts. A good friend and I started to do morning walks after dropping off our kiddos to school. Over time our walks would get longer. It felt great and I was so glad to have a walking partner. It always makes the time go faster and the conversations are great! There were plenty of moments where we would come to a halt, hunched over in laughter.
One day I saw an advertisement for a 5K in our community. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do it or not. It was a first for me. I asked my good friend if she wanted to do it with me.
And so we did!
Now I can say that I have done it and it felt good!
(didn't feel good the next morning....my body was sore and in pain, ha-ha!)
My baby began school and my oldest became a teenager.
I began to take better care of myself. My anxiety was more of a blessing than a curse. It was a helping tool through a new transition in my life. I am finding who I really am.
Things are getting better and I am feeling better.
We are still growing and learning and awaiting new adventures.
These pictures are highlights of our Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving is about family...
And grandparents with their grandchild....
And deep fried turkey....
And little girls dressed up so pretty.....
And cousin love.....
And a combo of grandchildren and great-grandchildren with their Nonno.....
And a very special woman in my life whom I am named after.....
And being blessed with incredible people in your life....
And just being Thankful!
December came fast and furious.
Every year we go visit a farm to get our tree and visit with Santa.
This year Little Miss didn't cry. She was a bit hesitant at first, but she did well. I was also surprised that my teenager was still very much in the spirit.
Gotta love it!
This tree was the winner!
We hosted Christmas Eve with my parents, brother & family, my grandfather, and my Uncle & Aunt that drove from Texas. For dinner I cooked a delicious roast. We also had potatoes, salad, meat pie, green beans, rolls and to satisfy our sweet tooth, my mother brought homemade holiday cookies. It was a cozy and relaxing day with loved ones. It was also a special treat to share the First Christmas with my goddaughter.
New Years Eve was a huge party! It was a mini reunion on my dad's side of the family and also a celebration for an 80th birthday. It was held at an Italian restaurant, (of course), and there was a DJ.
Food, dancing, family and more food, dancing and more family!
This was a great night!
We partied from 6:30 pm until 1:00 am.
Little Miss couldn't stay awake and crashed on my mother's lap.
Here's to another New year with new adventures, new memories to make, new mistakes to learn from, good health & prosperity!
