This year we hosted Thanksgiving for my side of the family. We had about 30 or so people. The days leading up to this day I fell ill. The flu hit me like a freight train. It was pretty bad. I thought about cancelling, but thought I'd give myself a little more time to see how things would turn out. My mom came to the rescue the day before. I felt better and wasn't puking my guts out anymore and the fever had left. If i didn't have her help, I'm not sure if I could have pulled it off myself. My boys helped out in a big way as well. One vacuumed while the other dusted. They had antibacterial wipes in hand going over every knob, light switch and surface. Such good boys. Every table was set, the candles lit, and the smell of turkey and stuffing filled the house.
Here's the hubs trying to get our GINORMOUS bird out of the oven for carving. It was 26+ pounds!
The kitchen was a scene. Every surface area was covered with food. It was a hit though. Every one was stuffed beyond their limits. Success!
I am so very thankful for all the blessings I have...and especially for my mom.
