Christmas Time......

Christmas time is always a busy time with shopping, baking & food prep, decorating and the traveling. We spend every Christmas eve with my family where we eat pizza and fish(a family tradition), and then play games until midnight when we all gather and open the piles of presents at the same time. After presents had been ripped through and awed over we packed things up and got to Jess' parents house at 2:30 am. I had to rock Kady back to sleep when we got to the house so we were up till 3am. Christmas morning the boys were up and ready to do stockings and presents, (Jess' family tradition followed by a traditional yummy egg cassarole brunch). The day was more relaxed and I ended up taking a nap w/ Kady. We left after dinner and drove home to have our own family Christmas with stockings and Santa gifts. Santa scored big with the boys this year (*wink)! And Santa HAD to get one of those 25th Anniversary Cabbage Patch Dolls for the Missy!!! The next day, (Friday), we drove back down to the bay area for some more Christmas fun.....Lunch at my Aunt's and more time with my parents and a family pot luck and elephant gift exchange w/ Jess' extended family & cousins that evening. Whew....we are tired, but had a good time. New Years is just around the corner for more parties and traveling.

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVERYONE!!!

Happy Birthday Bro......

My little brother turned 30! We had a surprise party for him with family and friends. It was a great time with tons of food, desserts, (which I helped bake 8 different kinds of cookies), a slide show of pictures from his "life", (which I also spent time making), and some great gifts. One of his buddies got him some "Just for Men" hair color and a package of depends.....pretty funny! He's the only sibling I have and it's crazy to think that we are all grown up and in our 30's now. Gee how time flies....

(but we can still act like a couple of kids!)

4 Months Old....

Kadybug is 4 months old today! She had her check p and things are good. She now weighs 13 lbs 10 oz. She smiles, blows raspberries, sings along with mom, giggles when her brothers jump around, (or when daddy dances to her), sleeps through the night, sucks her fingers to keep content, and can roll on her side, (not yet a full roll over to the tummy.) She is my sweet girl, my joy, my little squishy love :)

"Looks like Gelfling...Smells like Gelfling....Must be Gelfling"...

OK, I'm sure most of you have seen "The Dark Crystal" movie. Who hasn't?..It's awesome!
Jess calls Kady, "Gelfling", because of her ears. What do you think...any similarities?

Games.....

When my parents came to visit they played Candyland with the grandsons. The thing about board games in the household is that you can never find all the pieces of the game. That's why you see coins and army dudes.....

On the First Day of Christmas.....

My sister in law and family sent our "family Christmas gift". The cool thing about it is that they wrapped 12 individual gifts for the 12 days of Christmas. We were instructed to start opening the first one on on the 14th and continue each night until the 25th. I thought this was a great family gift idea!! I promised her I'd take pictures each night with each gift that we open. The first night's gift was a light up snowman head ornament for the Christmas tree :)

I Forgot.......

Here were some pics from our Thanksgiving with Jess' family. Brent came out from Idaho to visit and he and his sister got to share the day with us.

Family & Friends
(Brent holding a gourd...haha)

Jake didn't finish dinner...he had been playing all day and was all tuckered out

Sleep in Heavenly Peace......

I put Kady down next to the tree because she likes staring at the lights. Then as you can see she fell asleep.

Nathan.....

My Nate still sucks his thumb when he sleeps and I have tried to explain why it's not a good thing to do. First of all he's too old to continue that, but the main reason is that his two upper adult teeth are starting to form around that thumb of his. So this morning he decided to tell me why he can't just stop.......

Nate: Hey mom, you know why I can't stop sucking my thumb?

Me: Why?

Nate: Because it's like a person who smokes and can't quit because it's too hard........That's kinda like me and sucking my thumb, I just can't quit!

Potty Training......

Yes.....I have finally decided enough with diapering two kids and started potty training Jake a few weeks ago. Basically I would put him in underwear and a shirt during the day and a pull up when we go out or when he sleeps. I figured not putting pants on when he's just at home as a reminder that he has his undies on and not to have an accident. I have been rewarding him with small pieces of candy. Since starting this whole process, he has only had 2 accidents...Yippee! He wakes up every morning dry as well. I didn't think it was going to be this easy with him. If I did the child would have been potty trained a LONG time ago. O-well! He sure is funny with some of the stuff he says though. For example, "Mooommmyyy.....I went poo...Now I get caaandyyy." It was a little more of a struggle to actually get him to go "#2" in the beginning. At first he would come down with a diaper and say, "Mom you have to put a diaper on me so I can go poo." When the day came when he finally did on his own in his potty, he came running out and said, "I go'd poo Mom and it felt gooood!" (followed by, "Ewwww..that's yucky!!!") He cracks me up! He's such a good boy...The other day I was out shopping and he had to go...I had a cart full of stuff and wasn't about to leave it and truck all the way up to the front of the store..(I know, bad mommy right)...So I asked if he could hold it till we got home because mommy was almost done. He said yes, but I thought, "yeah right!" We got home and he went right in the house and straight to the restroom, dry pull up and all. I was pretty shocked! So all in all he has pretty much mastered this by now and I'm so proud of him :)
